Advance notice from the Village Voice, Death + Taxes Magazine, Filter Magazine, Obscuresound.com, RCRD LBL, NY Press, Time Out NY, and TheLineOfBestFit.com have already hailed it as the League's best. It is not an immediate record. It is a slowly-gestating virus, an ALBUM in the most classic, anachronistic, and interesting sense of the word. There are many ways to buy this record -- a gorgeous physical cd + bonus disc (and eventually double LP) which gives you access to a secure online portal where the band will conintue to post free music (etc) all year long. The Silent League will make every attempt to visit your home this year. We begin with a short two-ish week jump down south as far as Florida, beginning Jan 28th (with a FREE party at Bruar Falls in Brooklyn). Accompanying us on tour is The Paper Hats, aka the stunningly beautiful solo guitar + electronics work of William Tyler of Lambchop and Silver Jews fame. The Official release date for the new Silent League record "But You've Always Been the Caretaker" is January 27th, 2010 on Something in Construction records. With the release of the record, the band will embark on several months of touring both in the U.S and abroad. Hey from the Silent League. Much is afoot.
So we’re announcing --
Coming out of hibernation, The Silent League is much rejuvenated, with a new record, tour plans, compilation tracks (coming any minute now)…and more in the works. This Summer, the UK label, Something In Construction Records (Air France, Loney, Dear) will release the 3rd record by The Silent League, called "But You‘ve Always Been the Caretaker". The band will then embark on several weeks of promotional touring in the U.K, performing at clubs and festivals to be announced shortly.
The band warms up in NYC with a showcase at Williamsburg Music Hall with Loney, Dear on May 5th.
